Ivo D. Cholakov is a research associate at the National Institute of Archaeology and Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIAM-BAS). He received his master’s degree at the New Bulgarian University and his doctorate at NIAM-BAS (2006). He is author of Roman and Early Byzantine Metal Tools on the Territory of Bulgaria: The 1st–The Beginning of the 7th Century (Sofia 2010) and several articles published in various periodicals. He has worked on archaeological excavations, field surveys, and different projects in Bulgaria since 1995. His research interests include antique tools and production, Roman terracottas, and Lower Danube limes.
