Pınar Durgun

Pınar Durgun

Dr. Pınar Durgun is an art historically trained archaeologist with a strong background in anthropology and over ten years of experience teaching and working in museums. She received her Ph.D. from Brown University’s Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World. Her research focuses on ancient Anatolia and wider ancient western Asia, the history of death and burial, image and identity making, archaeological copies and reproductions, and museums. She is particularly interested in how museums can help us understand, protect, and engage with the past and how they can better serve our communities today. Pınar works towards making academic information about the ancient world accessible, fun, and inclusive by creating and curating education and outreach projects.
