Susanne Ebbinghaus

Susanne Ebbinghaus is the George M.A. Hanfmann Curator of Ancient Art and head of the Division of Asian and Mediterranean Art at the Harvard Art Museums; she also serves as a lecturer in the Harvard Department of the Classics and participates in the Archaeological Exploration of Sardis. She oversaw the 2014 reinstallation of the ancient art galleries at Harvard and has co-organized the exhibitions “Gods in Color: Painted Sculpture of Classical Antiquity” (2007), “Animal-Shaped Vessels from the Ancient World: Feasting with Gods, Heroes, and Kings” (2018), and “Funerary Portraits from Roman Egypt: Facing Forward” (2022).
