In most cases, the time from submission to decision for articles submitted to the American Journal of Archaeology is from four to six months.
Submissions should not exceed 20,000 words, including abstract, article body, works cited, notes, and figure captions.
All submissions should follow the AJA Policy on the Publication and Citation of Unprovenanced Antiquities and the Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Hüseyin Erpehlivan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Archaeology at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. His research focuses on Classical and Anatolian archaeology, with particular emphasis on material culture studies, settlement patterns, and the cultural history of the Anatolian Iron Age. He has participated in several research projects in western and central Anatolia, contributing to regional studies that examine long-term landscape use, socio-economic networks, and cultural interactions from the Iron Age through the Hellenistic period. His recent publications address Phrygian burial customs and the analysis of material culture elements from surveys and museum collections in northwestern Türkiye.
