In most cases, the time from submission to decision for articles submitted to the American Journal of Archaeology is from four to six months.
Submissions should not exceed 20,000 words, including abstract, article body, works cited, notes, and figure captions.
All submissions should follow the AJA Policy on the Publication and Citation of Unprovenanced Antiquities.

Elif Ünlü is an associate professor of archaeology at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009. She is a ceramic specialist of Anatolian Bronze Ages and her research focuses on gastro-politics, economies of food production, and interactions in the Eastern Mediterranean. She has been affiliated with several projects in Turkey, including Fasıllar Monument and its Environs Survey in Beyşehir-Konya, Hacimusalar Archaeological Project in Elmalı, Tell Tayinat Archaeological Project in Hatay, and is currently the Assistant Director of Tarsus-Gözlükule Archaeological Project in Mersin.
