Nicola Terrenato

Nicola Terrenato is a Roman archaeologist with more than 20 years of field experience in the Mediterranean. He was educated at the universities of Rome and Pisa. Terrenato is currently professor of classical archaeology at the University of Michigan. He has published widely on topics in Roman archaeology and has acted as principal investigator for archaeological fieldwork in and around the cities of Rome and Volterra, as well as in Basilicata. He also devotes considerable time to teaching students in the field and since 2003 has directed the summer program in archaeology at the American Academy in Rome.
