Brian Martens

Brian Martens (DPhil, Oxford) is an archaeologist specializing in the art and visual cultures of the Mediterranean basin, especially of the Greek East. He has over a decade of field experience in Greece and, since 2013, he has supervised excavations in the Athenian Agora. His research interests focus on the making, trading, and display of marble sculpture, and he is presently preparing for publication the corpus of reduced-scale divine statuary from the Agora.
