Emily S.K. Anderson

Emily S. K. Anderson (A.B., Brown University, Ph.D., Yale University) is an assistant professor in the Department of Classics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where her research focuses on the material and visual cultures of the Bronze Age Aegean. She is the author of Seals, Craft and Community in Bronze Age Crete (Cambridge UP, 2016). Her current book project concerns the representation of nonhuman animals in the Cretan Bronze Age. Another large-scale project deals with the complex interactions between collections of ancient replicas/reproductions and modern urban culture in Gilded- and Jazz-Age Baltimore.
