Jeffrey A. Becker is a Roman archaeologist whose research addresses the architecture and urbanism of ancient Italy and the Roman empire. Educated at Franklin & Marshall College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Ph.D. 2007), Becker is active in archaeological fieldwork in Italy, having worked in the Cecina Valley near Volterra, at the site of Grottarossa on the Via Flaminia, and at the excavations at the northeast corner of the Palatine Hill. Becker is now visiting assistant professor of classics at McMaster University and the managing director of the Gabii Project just to the east of Rome.
