Elizabeth P. Baughan is assistant professor of classics and archaeology at the University of Richmond. Her research focuses on ancient furniture, banqueting ideologies, and cultural identity in Archaic and Persian-period Anatolia, especially Lydia. She earned her doctorate in classical archaeology at the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently completing a book on Anatolian funerary klinai as a fellow of the Center for Hellenic Studies. Since 2009, she has served as field supervisor for Bilkent University's excavations at Hacımusalar Höyük in northern Lycia.
