Yannis Galanakis

Yannis Galanakis is the University Lecturer in Greek Prehistory in the Faculty of Classics, University of Cambridge. Between 2007 and 2012, he was the curator for the Aegean Collections and the Sir Arthur Evans Archive at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. He works on Bronze Age Aegean archaeology, specializing in funerary architecture and practice, and on 19th-century antiquities trafficking, particularly on tomb robbers, art dealers, and the formation of archaeological inquiry within the framework of the first archaeological law of Greece (1834–1899).
