Lori Khatchadourian is assistant professor of Near Eastern studies at Cornell University and a fellow with the American Council of Learned Societies (2013–2014). She holds a Ph.D. in classical art and archaeology from the University of Michigan. Her research centers on the archaeology of imperialism and the relationship between power and materiality in the Caucasus, Near East, and Eurasia. Khatchadourian is currently completing a book titled The Satrapal Condition: Archaeology and the Matter of Empire. She codirects the joint American-Armenian Project for the Archaeology and Geography of Ancient Transcaucasian Societies. She has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation.
